Burial

Burial is the classic burial in a coffin.

A maximum of ten days may pass between the day of death and the day of the burial.

Classic grave types

Burial in a coffin takes place almost exclusively in cemeteries. The most common burial is in a grave of choice or a grave in a row.

For these types of graves, you must take care of the grave maintenance yourself or ensure this through a grave maintenance contract.

More and more cemeteries are offering maintenance-free grave types

for burials. The so-called "American graves" are widespread, i.e. row graves in the earth with a memorial plaque.

Burial in the forest

In the Netherlands, burials are also possible in forests on a "natural burial ground".

The natural burial grounds of Bergerbos and Eygelshoven are located near the border.
